More Wildlife Injured By Fish Hooks

Going to the lake very early tomorrow to try and free a newly arrived Canada Goose from having both legs tangled in fishing line. The goose can still fly up when approached. We will try to locate it.

Swans Rescued by Anne-Katrin Titze and Ed Bahlman

Anne-Katrin Titze removed barbed illegal fishing hooks yesterday and this morning from these two cygnets born at the lake on May 21st. They were attached to the upper beaks. All in all, four swans were rescued from barbed fishing hooks and lines in the past 24 hours. (Please click on the thumbnails to see larger images).
